Question: What are protein supplements? Can anyone tell me about protein shakes? Any preferred brands? Also when and how are they supposed to be taken?

Protein suppliments are intended to supply protein along with some necessary nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, fatty acids or amino acids, that are missing or are not consumed in sufficient quantity in a person’s diet.
However in some countries it is banned because for its long-term-side-effects.
Always consult your doc. before doing any kind of supplement and I am sure your doctor will never recommend supplement for you. (like protein supplements).
I will recommend to always do natural bodybuilding by having natural food habits. I know people performing bodybuilding for about 8 years and never used any kind of suppliments.
Its all about the right diet and tight schedule with proper rest.
But if you still wanna know then I’ll recommend whey protein or elite whey protein.
And there is a harm less protein powder manufactured by NesCafe. So its better if you preferably go for this one. Protien shakes are the supplements taken with milk. Like a shake …. these are mostly flavoured one.
Also your body need atmost of 58% to 60% of protein so never go for 100% protein suppliment. On when and how to take consult your diet plan expert.
